eCFR Subpart O [ecfr.gov]
This subpart applies to:
- Sterilization sources that use ethylene oxide in sterilization or fumigation operations.
Not subject to this subpart:
- Beehive fumigators;
- Research or laboratory facilities as defined in Section 112(c)(7) of Title III of the Clean Air Act Amendment of 1990;
- Ethylene oxide sterilization operations at hospitals, doctors offices, clinics, or other facilities whose primary purpose is to provide medical services to humans or animals;
Partial Exemptions:
- Sterilization sources using less than 1 ton of ethylene oxide within any 12-month consecutive period are not subject to emission standards, however other subpart requirements still apply.
