THE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY
is proud to announce that
Derek Schreiter
Ken Lamb
Alan Rosenboom

will be added to our list of recipients of the DEQ Cottonwood Award.

The Agriculture Section has been subjected to a variety of significant statutory changes in the past couple of years in the livestock program. One of those changes was the requirement for the Department to provide for a livestock waste land application training program for permit applicants. Derek Schreiter, Ken Lamb, and Alan Rosenboom provided the extra effort to help develop this part of the livestock program. Derek, Ken, and Alan worked with UNL Extension Division to develop a program that is readily accessible to the hundreds of livestock producers that are required to take the training. They also developed the land application test and answers for the program. Individuals have to take the training and notify the Ag Section that they have completed the training. Derek and Ken will oversee the continuing training. Alan, Derek, and Ken deserve an extra note of thanks for their willingness and effort in this task.

Each Cottonwood award winner will have a choice of one of the following:
Attaché with embroidered DEQ logo and the words “Cottonwood Award”
Sport Shirt (golf shirt) with embroidered DEQ logo and “Cottonwood Award”
Walnut Pen set with engraving
Walnut Clock with engraving
DEQ Fleece Blanket in Navy, Forrest Green and Maroon

Once again CONGRATULATIONS!
