Applicability: eCFR Subpart KKKK [ecfr.gov]

This subpart applies to:
  1. Stationary combustion turbines that meet both of the following conditions:
    • Heat input at peak load of ≥ 10.7 gigajoules (10 MMBtu) per hour, based on the higher heating value of the fuel;
    • Commence construction, modification, or reconstruction after Feb 18, 2005.
Stationary gas turbines that commenced construction, modification, or reconstruction after Oct 3, 1977 and on or before Feb 18, 2005 are subject to NSPS GG.

Heat recovery steam generators and duct burners regulated under this subpart are exempt from the requirements of NSPS Da, Db, and Dc.

Not subject to this subpart:
  1. Combustion turbines at integrated gasification combined cycle eletric utility steam generating units that are subject to NSPS Da;
  2. Combustion turbine test cells/stands.
Partially Exempt:
  1. Emergency combustion turbines are exempt from the NOx limits in 60.4320;
  2. Combustion turbines used by manufacturers for research and development of equipment for both turbine emission control techniques and efficiency improvements may be exempt from the NOx limits in 60.4320, subject to Administrator approval;
