Kraft Pulp Mills -  Subpart BB

Applicability: eCFR Subpart BB [ecfr.gov]

This subpart applies to:
  1. Affected facilities at kraft pulp mills that commence construction, modification, or reconstruction after Sep 24, 1976 and on or before May 23, 2013.
Affected facilities:
  1. Digester system;
  2. Brown stock washer system;
  3. Multiple-effect evaporator system;
  4. Recovery furnace;
  5. Smelt dissolving tank;
  6. Lime kiln;
  7. Condensate stripper system.
In pulp mills where kraft pulping is combined with neutral sulfite semichemical pulping, the provisions of this subpart are applicable when any portion of the material charged to any affected facility is produced by the kraft pulping operation.

Facilities constructed, modified, or reconstructed after May 23, 2013 are subject to NSPS BBa.
