Applicability: eCFR Subpart IIII [ecfr.gov]

This subpart applies to:
  1. Manufacturers of CI ICE with a displacement of < 30 liters/cylinder where the model year is:
    1. 2007 or later for non-fire pump engines
    2. For fire pump engines:
      • 2011 or later for engines < 100 HP
      • 2010 or later for engines 100 ≤ HP < 175
      • 2009 or later for engines 175 ≤ HP ≤ 750
      • 2008 or later for engines > 750 HP
  2. Owners and operators of CI ICE that commenced construction after July 11, 2005, where the CI ICE are:
    1. Manufactured after April 1, 2006 and not fire pump engines;
    2. Manufactured as a certified National Fire Protection Association fire pump engine after July 1, 2006.
