Onshore Natural Gas Processing: SO2 Emissions -  Subpart LLL

Applicability: eCFR Subpart LLL [ecfr.gov]

This subpart applies to:
  1. Sweetening units and sweetening units followed by a sulfur recovery units that commence construction or modification after January 20, 1984 and on or before August 23, 2011.
Those that commence construction after August 23, 2011 are subject to NSPS OOOO.

Onshore facilities that process natural gas from either onshore or offshore wells are subject to this subpart.

Facilities with a design capacity < 2 long tons/day (LT/D) of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) in the acid gas (expressed as sulfur) are required to comply only with the recordkeeping requirements of this subpart.

Not subject to subpart:
  1. Sweetening facilities producing acid gas that is completely reinjected into oil-or-gas-bearing geologic strata or that is otherwise not released to the atmosphere.
