Litter Reduction and Recycling Grant Applications Due August 1, 2013

The Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality has announced a new deadline for submissions for Litter Reduction and Recycling Grant applications. Applications for 2014 grants are due August 1, 2013.

The Litter Reduction and Recycling Grant Program provides funds annually to support programs to reduce litter, provide education and promote recycling in Nebraska. Grants may be awarded to both public and private entities.

The annual deadline had traditionally been September 15. However, discussion with grant recipients about their needs, and evaluation of the timeframe needed to review applications, led NDEQ to revise the due date to August 1. This revised timeframe will allow NDEQ to make grant awards by the beginning of the year.

The application is located at: http://deq.ne.gov/Publica.nsf/Pages/WAS029. More information can be found at DEQ’s web site, http://deq.ne.gov , by selecting Financial – Grants, Distribution of Aid, Litter Reduction and Recycling Program.
