NOTICE OF PERMIT ISSUANCE

The Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality (NDEQ) proposes to modify the Nebraska Pretreatment Program (NPP) permit to Henningsen Foods, Inc. 14334 Industrial Rd., Omaha, NE d/b/a Henningsen Foods, Inc., 325 Third St., David City, NE (NPP# NE0133108; SIC 2015). The facility breaks, processes, dries, and freezes eggs. Pretreatment wastewater and cooling water is discharged through Outfall 001 and 002 to Keysor Creek, an undesignated tributary to the North Fork of the Big Blue River, segment BB4-30200 of the Big Blue River Basin, via the David City WWTF. Mass limit units for Total Suspended Solids and Biochemical Oxygen Demand have been modified from kg/day to lbs/day. The permit modification will not change the expiration date of the permit and will continue to restrict pollutant discharges to comply with the requirements of Department regulations. The draft permit, fact sheet and other public information are available for review at NDEQ’s Lincoln Office (address below) between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. weekdays, excluding holidays. A determination to hold a hearing will be based upon factual environmental or regulatory consideration.
