Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality
Air Quality Division

Notice is given to the public, according to Chapter 14 of Nebraska Administrative Code Title 129 - Nebraska Air Quality Regulations, that the Department is proposing to issue a construction permit to Nucor Corporation (FID 35677), a steel recycling facility (Standard Industrial Classification code 3312) located at 2911 East Nucor Road, Norfolk, Stanton County, Nebraska. There is no anticipated change in emissions of regulated air contaminants due to the proposed revision.

Stanton County meets the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) for those pollutants subject to a NAAQS and is expected to continue in that status. No impact is anticipated on habitat for any rare or threatened species.

The Department has reopened construction permit CP17-038 for cause in accordance with Title 129, Chapter 15, Section 006. The reason for reopening the permit is to rectify the compliance methodology for relative accuracy of the continuous emissions rate monitoring system.

The proposed permit and supporting materials are available Friday, February 2, 2018 through Monday, March 5, 2018 at the NDEQ, Suite 400, 1200 "N" Street, Lincoln, Nebraska, and electronically at Comments received by the Department during this period will be considered prior to the final decision.
