NOTICE OF INTENT TO RENEW PERMIT #NE0204056
for Gage County Construction & Demolition Waste Disposal Area
under consideration by the
Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality

PUBLIC NOTICE is given in accordance with Title 132 - Integrated Solid Waste Management Regulations, Chapter 2, §011, that the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality (NDEQ) has received an application to renew the permit of Gage County Construction & Demolition Waste Disposal Area, P.O. Box 673, Beatrice, NE. After review of the permit application, a preliminary determination has been made to recommend renewal of the permit. The term of the permit shall be March 10, 2018 through March 9, 2023.

FACILITY DESCRIPTION. The permit allows the operation of an existing construction and demolition waste disposal area under Nebraska's solid waste management laws and regulations. The construction and demolition waste disposal area shall accept waste which results from land clearing, the demolition of buildings, roads, or other structures, including, but not limited to, fill materials, wood, land clearing debris other than yard waste, wall covering, drywall, plaster, non-asbestos insulation, roofing shingles and other roof coverings, plumbing fixtures, glass, plastic, carpeting, electrical wiring, pipe, and metals.

FACILITY LOCATION. The property is located approximately 2 miles south of Beatrice on Highway 77 and 1 and 1/3 mile west on West Lilac Road. The legal description of Gage County Construction & Demolition Waste Disposal Area is NE ¼ NW ¼ SE ¼ SW ¼ Section 17 Township 3 North Range 6 East of the 6th Principal Meridian Gage County, Nebraska.

OPPORTUNITY FOR PUBLIC COMMENT AND HEARING. The public may submit written comments and may also request a public hearing on the permitting decision. A request for a hearing must be made in writing and state the issues proposed for discussion and their relation to the proposed permit renewal. Public comments and hearing requests shall be made to: David Haldeman, Land Management Division Administrator, Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality, 1200 'N' Street, Suite 400, The Atrium, P.O. Box 98922, Lincoln, NE 68509-8922.

The NDEQ will make a final decision to renew or deny the permit based on the permit application, the compliance status of Gage County Construction & Demolition Waste Disposal Area, and public comment received. NDEQ will publish notice of the final decision and notify the applicant and other interested persons.

COMMENT PERIOD. All comments or requests for a hearing must be postmarked by December 17, 2017.
