NOTICE OF PERMIT ISSUANCE The Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality (NDEQ) proposes to issue a new National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit for Nebraska Army National Guard, Camp Ashland Training Site Potable Water Treatment Plant, 220 County Road A, Ashland, NE (NPDES# NE0139432; SIC 4941). This training site is for the training of treating surface non-potable water to potable drinking water. Water discharged will be potable drinking water as well as some filter backwash from a portable drinking water system. Wastewater will be land applied on land owned by the Nebraska National Guard. The permit would be issued for a period of up to five years and would restrict pollutant discharges to comply with the requirements of Department regulations. The draft permit, fact sheet and other public information are available for review at NDEQ’s Lincoln Office (address below) between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. weekdays, excluding holidays. A determination to hold a hearing will be based upon factual environmental or regulatory consideration.
