Availability of the final draft of the document “Strategic Plan and Guidance for Implementing the Nebraska Nonpoint Source Management Program – 2000-2015” for public review and comment


This notice announces the availability of the final draft of the document “Strategic Plan and Guidance for Implementing the Nebraska Nonpoint Source Management Program – 2000-2015” . This document was prepared by the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality (NDEQ) in accordance with Section 319 of the federal Clean Water Act. It describes how the NDEQ intends to implement the Nebraska Nonpoint Source Management Program in the years to come. When finalized, the NDEQ will submit the document to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Region 7 Office for approval.

Via this notice, the NDEQ is soliciting public comment and participation in the development and finalization of the document. Comments received on or before November 17, 2000, will be reviewed and considered when finalizing the document.

A final draft of the document is available for public viewing on the NDEQ’ s web site at www.deq.state.ne.us under the Priority Issues category. To receive a paper copy of the document, please contact Elbert Traylor at (402) 471-2585 or FAX (402) 471-2902.
