The NPDES General Permit for CAFOs confining cattle in open lots is effective April 1, 2008 and expires March 31, 2013. Concentrated animal feeding operations with cattle in open lots and adequate livestock waste control facilities are eligible to apply for coverage under this general permit. CAFOs previously covered under NPDES General Permit NEG010000 will likely be eligible for coverage under this permit.

The NPDES permit program is administered at the state level, through delegation to Nebraska from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Nebraska also administers a separate state permit program, which includes the state Construction and Operating Permit for the construction and operation of livestock waste control facilities

Note: Effective Oct. 1, 2009, any individual submitting any application or form that would derive public benefit from the state must also fill out a United States Citizenship Attestation form.
