This information is provided by the Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy to assist the public and regulated community.
Form #: 08-006 Applications and Forms Revised: 10/1/13

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) promulgated national emission standards for hazardous air pollutants for secondary nonferrous metals processing area sources on December 26, 2007 (72 Federal Register 73179) located in 40 Code of Regulations (CFR) Part 63 Subpart TTTTTT. This rule will require all sources meeting the applicability requirements within this category to meet hazardous air pollutant emission standards reflecting the application of the generally available control technology (GACT).

You may be subject to this subpart if you own or operate a secondary nonferrous metals processing facility that is an area source of hazardous air pollutants (HAP). An area source is a facility that has the potential to emit <10 tons per year (TPY) of individual hazardous air pollutants (HAP) or 25 TPY of combined HAP. A secondary nonferrous metals processing facility is a brass and bronze ingot making, secondary magnesium processing, or secondary zinc processing plant that uses furnace melting operations to melt post-consumer nonferrous metal scrap to make products including bars, ingots, blocks, or metal powders.
