Merritt Reservoir southwest of Valentine.  Collect sample at swimming beach on NE part of Lake off Highway 9 approximately 23 miles southwest of Valentine.


On the table below, the level to trigger a toxic algae Health Alert is 20 parts per billion for the toxin Microcystin. Health Alerts stay in effect until the level stays below 20 ppb for two consecutive weeks

In the Bacteria (E.coli) column, a single sample of 235 counts (or higher) per 100 ml is considered a higher risk for illness through ingestion.
